MILLINGTON — The Millington varsity volleyball team continued its strong start to Big Thumb Conference play Tuesday night, turning a dominant serving performance into a straight-set victory over Caro.

The Cardinals controlled the match from the opening serve, sweeping the Tigers 25-9, 25-18, 25-14 on their home court.

Millington set the tone immediately in the opening set. The Cardinals put Caro under consistent pressure from the service line and rarely allowed the Tigers to establish an offensive rhythm, cruising to a 25-9 victory.

Caro provided more resistance in the second set, but Millington remained in control. The Cardinals continued to generate opportunities with aggressive serving and balanced attacking, pulling away for a 25-18 win and a commanding 2-0 advantage in the match.

Millington finished the job in the third. The Cardinals again dictated play and closed out the sweep with a 25-14 victory.

A major difference throughout the night was Millington's serving. Kallie Stevens led the Cardinals with an impressive eight aces while also contributing seven kills.

EmmaLeigh Peters added five aces and nine digs, while Grace Ehrmantraut recorded four aces and anchored the back row with a team-high 12 digs.

The Cardinals also received balanced production at the net. Carly Ehrmantraut finished with six kills and nine digs, while Brooklyn Barden added six kills.

Millington's setters kept the offense moving throughout the three-set victory. Kate Murray led the Cardinals with 13 assists, while Lyla Wagner contributed seven.
